Tentative 2009-10 Team Schedules

Elite Teams:

Elite team players are serious about their volleyball careers. Period. They, and their family, are ready, willing and able to make a full commitment which an Elite team requires which includes practices and training, tournaments, travel and financial responsibilities.

National Teams:

National team players have the same attitude and desire about their volleyball career, but who may not be quite ready for an Elite team. The reasons could be physical, mental, financial or even a personal choice. We expect our National players to strive to compete at the same level as our Elite teams.

Regional Teams:

Regional team players love the sport of volleyball and want to play to improve their game. Though there is a slightly shorter schedule and reduced financial responsibility, we expect our Regional players to strive for a National or Elite team level in the future.

Boys Teams:

Our Boys teams will play a schedule designed for them and not necessarily fit into one of our girls team categories of Elite, National or Regional. Our boys teams serve two purposes, 1) to both introduce more boys to the great sport of volleyball, and 2) to improve and hone the skills of boys already playing and are seeking to play at a higher level.

Commitment:

All players regardless of age or team level are expected to make and fulfill a commitment to their team and all responsibilities which come with that team. Volleyball is a team sport and your team is counting on your commitment!

Season timeline:

All teams begin practicing within two weeks of their Tryouts (see PPVC Master Schedule for specific dates to be posted) and will continue through either RMR Regionals or Jr. Nationals.

Practices:

All Elite, National and Regional teams practice two weeknights per week for two hours each night (usually either M/W or T/R)

Number of tournaments:

this varies slightly based on age group and level of team (see above Matrix for more information)

Optional Play Up tournaments:

Elite and National teams have the option of playing up in Power tournaments for the next higher age group. This needs to be discussed and with the teams head coach and decided no later than Dec 15th

Training & Position Skills:

Plyometric training and separate position skills clinics will be held on Saturdays throughout the season (see Training page and PPVC Master Schedule for specific dates to be posted)
