Head Coach: Steve Lacy
I was born and raised in Glendale, AZ. I recently got married in April, graduated from ASU in May 2009 with a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education with a specialization in history, and moved to Colorado Springs in July.
I've been coaching for the past 5 years. I coaching at a local middle school and moved up to coaching at two different high schools - coaching both boys and girls volleyball.
In that time, I've coached some less than skilled teams, as well as some teams who have had tremendous success. In the past three years, I've coached or assisted on boys' and girls' varsity teams who have gone to the State tournament two of the past three years, including one undefeated season, two Regional Championships and a State Runner-Up finish.
Whether they have been “good” or “bad” - the most important aspect is that my teams always have FUN and IMPROVE, not only on the court, but as human beings.
I've had success coaching both boys and girls volleyball in high school and I am excited to bring my experience and enthusiasm for coaching to the Pikes Peak 17 Elite team this season.

I come from Vancouver, Washington and am currently a sophomore playing volleyball at Colorado State University – Pueblo as a setter/right side. While I loved living in Washington, I wanted to go to school in a place unfamiliar to me, and CSU – Pueblo offered a great chance for that.
I have been playing volleyball for 8 years and in high school I was a three-year varsity athlete. I have a passion for volleyball that I was not able to obtain in any other sport.
I look forward to coaching a team for the first time and learning all I can. I want to be a part of the volleyball community when I am done playing in college, so I see coaching for PPVC as the perfect way to get started.

My name's Mariah See and I was born and raised in Manitou Springs. I started playing volleyball at local camps and in YMCA leagues at the age of 5, and it's been a passion of mine ever since. I lettered and played varsity all four years at Manitou Springs High School and played club for Pikes Peak my 15s year and Altitude for 17s. I was very lightly recruited by various college programs, including Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, CA, where I eventually went to school. One of the most difficult decisions I ever made was to prioritize my desire to excell in nursing school over playing volleyball and not join the team. Instead, I learned my way around the beach and grass volleyball culture of Southern California and filled my weekends with tournaments and pick up games (when I wasn't studying of course). I have always wanted to coach and am stoked for this opportunity!!

I grew up in Virginia Beach where volleyball was pretty much a lifestyle. Twelve years of playing and coaching later, I still get the same feeling walking onto the court.
I walked on to a high school team that worked hard and produced results. During my years, our team always a contender in the Virginia State Tournament and we walked away with one 5A State Championship! I also played club volleyball, which was a journey of a lifetime as I enjoyed playing in many National Qualifiers up and down the east coast.
I attended Ball State University in Muncie, IN, where I had the opportunity to coach a club team ith Central Indiana Volleyball Club with my father as my Assistant Coach. This was truly an amazing experience! I enjoyed sharing my love of the game and my knowledge with a group of young girls and watch them improve individually and as a team over the course of the season.
I am very excited to work with my father, Walter, again as my assistant coach on this year's PPVC 13 National Team.

I have two daughters who have played volleyball for years. I started out helping the coaches with my daughter's JO team at Tidewater Volleyball Association in 1996. I got hooked and started playing in men's leagues and mixed leagues. The next year I was officially an Assistant Coach for TVA and the following year I took a head coach position. All three years I worked with 14 year old teams.
We moved to Kennesaw, GA in 2000 after I retired from the Navy. I worked for the Kennesaw Mountain High School Varsity volleyball coach for two years in a developmental program. The program was designed for the local middle school, which did not have team sports programs, to teach girls volleyball skills before they entered high school. In addition, I coached the 14 Regional and travel team at Cobb Juniors for two years.
Next we moved to Fishers, IN in 2002 and I was the assistant coach for the 15 Regional team at Central Indiana Volleyball Club in 2003. The following year I was the head coach of the 16 Regional team at CIVC, this was the first year that my daughter Erica and I coached together. Due to a new job, the following year I was only able to assist Erica as she became the head coach for the 16 Regional team. I also worked with the Hamilton Southeastern High School volleyball coach running a volleyball summer camp for girls and boys ages 8 to 12 to introduce them to the game.
We have been in Colorado Springs for a couple of years and we now the have the flexibility to coach together again. I will assist Erica in coaching the Pikes Peak 13 National team this year.

I’m eager to start my second year with Pikes Peak this season. My nickname was awarded by my maternal grandmother, or tutu, who was native Hawaiian (if you wish to know more, feel free to ask).

While assigned to the USAF Academy, I spent three seasons coaching at the Academy Preparatory School and have been a regular at the university’s summer youth volleyball camps (in between deployments).
I retired from the Air Force in 2008 after 22 years as a public affairs journalist/photo-journalist. I hold a bachelor’s degree in communication with an emphasis on crisis management (believe me that comes in handy) from Regis University.
I currently work as the cadet advisor for the Academy’s student yearbook and coach the junior varsity team at Sand Creek High School. Go Falcons! Go Scorpions!
