Head Coach: Megan Green (2007-08 PPVC Coach of the Year!!)
Team: 17 Regional
Megan is currently a 6th grade teacher in School District 11. She has coached volleyball for almost 5 years, and is in her second consecutive season with Pikes Peak Volleyball Club. Last year she assisted David Barkley with the 14’s National team. She is looking forward to taking on the added responsibility of being a head coach this year. Previously she coached at The Volleyball Shack under Rick Swan, and has worked summer camps for Colorado College and The Volleyball Shack.
Megan grew up all over, and didn’t start playing volleyball until her senior year of high school. She lived in California for about 9 years and enjoyed being able to play 4 or 5 times a week. She likes to play outside hitter, but in the last few years has honed her skills as a setter. She tries to play in as many mountain grass tournaments as she can in the summer and looks forward to playing indoors in the winter.
Megan is really looking forward to the upcoming season and has great plans to coach her team to a great record!
Head Coach: Joe Harmon
Team: 16 National
“I feel at home with Pikes Peak VBC, and not just because Zebulon Pike is one of my ancestors [true], but because of the club’s kid-centered outlook. I support the club's vision and Mission Statement 100%.”
Joe has been coaching since he was a Jr in High School, has been coaching volleyball since he was a collegiate freshman, and has been an administrator in volleyball since 1983. Joe wishes to acknowledge John Kessel with USA Volleyball who has given him opportunity and mentorship over the years which has led to a life stance Joe has adopted which is “Youth athletics are for the youth, duh.”
Joe has directed three clubs, run many camps/tourneys/coaching clinics and coached “bad Division 1 volleyball”. But, he says his greatest joy is “seeing average players develop above average self confidence”. Joe enjoyed running the youth volleyball program for The Volleyball Shack leading instruction for up to 192 kids per league. Joe collects blues, likes frozen grapes, and lives in Springs Ranch with his wife Lisa and their cat Mildew.
